SITE UPDATE-23

V.23- This is a little update. I just didn't have time to work on anything. But, I did manage to do some new things. Here's what I did:

• A New Menu System... 

• On the Update Blog, I added a brand spankin' new menu. The first of it's kind. Well, it's been done before...But not on my sites. It's a new single tier menu. It's doesn't have any long drop down lists. It's all in a line. It's simple and compact. I love it. Not only that, it has an extra feature.

• It floats. It uses the same code as the Hover Warning to make it do that. If you look at the code, it even says "hoverwarning". It's the SAME code. It works the same too. You scroll past it, it snaps to the top of the screen. It still has the transparent settings too. I thought that it looked nice with that on. It's very awesome. I loved it so much that I wanted it to go EVERYWHERE! It could be a new menu standard for my sites. It's super simple and customizable. The reason why it isn't anywhere else is a long story. I'll tell you later..

• The Overlapping Issue.
• My menu has had the problem for a while...since it's creation. I have spend that past TEN months trying to fix it. The overlapping problem is where the list of one section will be blocked by the section it came out of.
• Example...

• See, the videos are blocked by the menu! You can even click on my recent ones. It happens to other things too, but mostly videos. 
• Here's another example....

• You can't even get to The Father's episode list!
• Well, I'm am EXTREMELY happy to say.....it is solved.
• SEE!!!

• I'd love to say "It was so hard to do!" or "I had to rebuild the whole menu"....but I didn't. I was going to rebuild the menu. I looked at other menus that are like it, but don't have the issue. And all I was going to so was copy and paste the menu's stuff into that one. However, in the process of rebuilding...I compared the menus. I knew it was just a balance of z-indexs. I saw where they were in mine, and in the new one. I put them in the same spots in my menu...and BAM! Problem solved!! That's how easy it was! After almost a year of searching, doing crazy complex things, it was just that simple. It baffled me. Now, my menu is complete basically....that was the only BIG issue. Now I just need to work on the load times.
• More Menu work...
• On the subject of the menu and loading, I did a change that should help. I removed my Monthly Updates videos. Before, I had the videos embedded, like my videos in the picture above. That means I had 36 videos of just those in the menu. When the menu loads, it doesn't load one thing at a time and when you get to it is when it loads. No, it loads it ALL at once. That's a lot of videos to load. So, I took the embedded ones out, but left the video links. I have noticed a faster load time now. I do want to try and have it load as you go...but I don't know where to start.
• And lastly, I updated the "My Profiles" section. Why? I don't know. I took out the pictures of site logos and just listed the sites. I also added badges if any site had one. I might do the same to the actual page later.
• Lastly, comment sections...
• I updated the rules. Before, you had to have an account to comment. An OpenID, anything...Well, I switched to anonymous. I had a few people try to comment and they could because they did want an account. I can understand that.
• The last thing is the Main Blog's Disqus comments. They stopped working. It was just a simple fix. I forgot to add the URL to the white-list of sites where the section can go. Nothing complicated.

And that's it...it was a small update, but an important one. I actually have a plan for next month. I wasn't able to add the new Update Blog Menu anywhere else is because...it wouldn't work. I had to really customize the site's HTML code to get it to work. I tried them same on the other sites...and it didn't work. So, I'm going to re-work the templates of all the sites into one template that works. I would use the Main Site's template, but it's out of use now. The Main Site is so easy to add new things. They just....work. Anyways, I'll try and do that so that I can add anything, anywhere. SEE YOU THEN!!!
